Seeing that it’s Fashion Week in New York, I’m pretending that if I were there I would totally be wearing this outfit. I know it’s not super dramatic or a far stretch from what I typically wear, but I love the idea of playing with textures – leather, fur, and suede. I’m sure if I was trying to be spotted at Lincoln Center I’d edit it slightly to include much more dramatic jewelry and probably a leather pant, but I’m at work so proper slacks are a must and bangles get annoying!
This fur vest was a STEAL from T.J.Maxx forever ago and the shoes were a gift from my mother after begging her to borrow them from her closet – loving the suede and cutout detail making it a transitional shoe for the Spring (whenever it gets here!!). Not to mention my go-to slack from J.Crew and this leather detailed blouse. This outfit is totally work appropriate but can transition to night with jeans or a skirt and tights!
Like we’ve said before on P&F, it’s easy to fall into the mundane with work attire. Here’s a
little inspiration to jazz it up a bit! And what’s great – these pieces are so versatile – the sweater and knits can work for more casual days and weekends while the skirt, pants and accessories
are great for evenings and special events! Just have fun with it and you will feel confident in
the way you look!
Jackets make a huge impression, often it’s the first thing people see on you during cool weather months. We love the variety of styles, colors, textures and patterns available these days! So whether you’re going to work, an event, a night out on the town or just running errands on Saturday morning cover yourself accordingly and don’t be afraid to make a statement!
Casual Friday’s in Fall are a fashion dream! The layered look is perfect for this time of year and not to mention super comfortable!
The first look elevates casual distressed boyfriend jeans with a heavy knit, gorgeous booties, a slouchy leather jacket and blinged-up accessories. The second, plays on the waxed jean trend making them the statement with a simple cable-knit sweater and denim jacket, a scarf to add a pop of color, simple druzy quartz studs and chic camel ankle boots.
These outfits are great for Fridays at work, running errands on the weekend or a dinner out on the town!
One of Fall’s biggest trends (and the most comfortable) is the sweatshirt! We love this trend because it makes a comfortable outfit look chic! It can be adapted for work with a flirty skirt or clean slacks and for a night out with leather shorts and tights!
Andddd we are back! The last couple of weeks have been a tad crazy, but we are ready to get back into the swing of things here at Polish and Flair. This week we will be focusing on all things Fall. With this cold surge that is hitting Ohio we have dug out our sweaters, scarves and boots and cannot wait to share some of our favorite looks for this fun season!
This look from Kate is perfect for a Fall Friday at work, an evening out or even a visit to the pumpkin patch!
We apologize for a lack of posting as of late – we, outside of our work for Polish and Flair, have been busy traveling for our day jobs and producing CMH Fashion Week’s Inaugural Bridal Show. We’ve been busy bees, but with the show on Friday, October 11th, we will resume our focus on Polish and Flair and making it even better than it is today!!
Kate and I, like our last Style Spotlight on Cori Imbrigiotta, are in love with the ever present leather trend. We both been in talks on how to rock a pair of leather shorts for a game day or evening out, we just can’t get enough leather! I for one never thought that the leather train, aside from a jacket or blazer, was one I would jump on – but I’m in my seat and ready to ride it out! I love faux leather detailing on tops and blazers as well as full on leather pieces from shorts to skirts to pants. We can’t get enough of the leather trend here at Polish and Flair!
On Thursday I attended the Rowe Boutique Fashion Show – Night Fall – at the Ivory Room. Everything about it was glam and glitz – it brought the most fashionable out in Columbus and for a great cause, The Jack Roth Fund. The Ivory Room was DECKED OUT, chandeliers sparkled and strung lights glistened, the DJ killed it the entire night, and the food, including Kittie’s Cakes, was absolutely delicious – not to mention the continuous flow of Moscow Mules 🙂 I had worn a fun faux leather skirt to work and decided to keep with that and make a quick change to my shoes and top as I was coming from work and needed to be there right on time to secure a ticket! Here’s what I pulled off!
